Decubitus Ulcer Treatment
Commonly known as a pressure sore or a bed sore, a decubitus ulcer is an extremely painful condition that can arise from staying in the same position for an extended period of time. Also, injury to the diabetic’s foot (trimming toenails, stubbing of toes, etc) with neuropathy is a common cause of these wounds. The condition can be as minor as a red sore that disappears within a few hours to a severe open wound that affects skin, bones and organs. Due to the dangers of it becoming infected, decubitus treatment needs to be started as soon as the condition is discovered.
Currently, the primary form of treatment is prevention. Individuals who are bedridden, for example, need the help of a nurse or family member to ensure that they are regularly moved to eliminate potential pressure points. As effective as prevention techniques may be, once a decubitus ulcer has set in, healing it can be a long and painful process. Obviously, proper hygiene and bandaging of the wound can go a long way, but this does little to alleviate the pain a sufferer typically feels.
The Neurocare™ 1000 4P/XP is an electrical stimulator designed to help with the healing process of numerous conditions, including decubitus ulcers. An entirely non-invasive system, the NNeurocare™ 1000 4P/XP uses a controlled electrical current to stimulate blood flow and muscle activity. By increasing the blood flow to the area of a decubitus ulcer, the body is better able to heal itself by providing the nutrients needed for tissue damage to be repaired.
Our website has been designed to provide extensive information on the effectiveness of the Neurocare™ 1000 4P/XP. In addition to articles and recent studies, it also includes a number of video clips and photographs that illustrate the device’s many uses. From our clinical model to our portable solution, we offer a selection of devices suited for any setting.
